Seat invests 7 million euros in battery R&D center

It is reported that Seat will build a laboratory for research and development and testing of battery packs in the Spanish city of Martorell - Test Center Energy (TCE, Test Center Energy). It is expected that after the completion of the pure electric and hybrid models for Seat and its sports brand Cupra to provide services in battery technology, the laboratory is currently planning to invest an amount of 7 million euros (about 56 million yuan).

The lab is expected to be officially completed in April 2021, and when it is finished, the lab will set aside a space of about 1,500 square meters for Volkswagen Spain to conduct electric vehicle testing for the brand in question. For Seat, the inauguration of the energy test center marks the full launch of the brand's electrification process, with the new lab allowing a maximum electrical capacity of 1.3 million watts during testing.
