China's first 100,000-kilowatt-level battery storage power station was put into operation in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province on the 18th, which is equivalent to installing a large-scale "rechargeable powerbank" for the urban power grid, and opened a new stage of commercial operation of large-scale battery storage power stations in China.


Lai Xiaokang, the Secretary-General of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Electric Power Storage said, In the future, the cost of lithium batteries will be reduced to 0.25 yuan per kilowatt-hour.

Moreover, the new lithium-ion batteries have met the high-temperature, non-explosive and other safety requirements of commercial operation, which provide technical support for the opening of large-scale battery energy storage plant construction.
