2020/10/13 SEAT Invested 7Million Euro to Build Battery R&D Center

It is reported that SEAT will build a laboratory for the development and testing of battery packs in the Spanish city of martorel - TCE (test center energy). After completion, it is expected to provide battery technology services for the pure electric and hybrid models of SEAT and its sports brand Cupra. The laboratory currently plans to invest 7 million euros (about 56 million yuan).

The laboratory is expected to be officially completed in April 2021, after which a space of about 1500 square meters will be set aside for Volkswagen's Spanish division to test electric vehicles of related brands. According to SEAT the completion of the energy test center marks the full spread of the brand electrification process. The maximum power capacity allowed in the test process of the new laboratory is 1.3 million watts.
